Having been an individual that enjoyed surfing, paddleboarding and all things watersports, I wanted to be able to adapt to land based sports. I stumbled across Loc and Andrew at nomads adventure.
Trusting people whilst hanging off the side of cliffs with crashing waves thundering below can be a daunting experience - one I felt first hand - though, under the careful watch of Andrew and Loc, I felt reassured and secure. Trusting them came easily when they comfortably and confidently demonstrated scenarios and proved their knowledge of the technicalities of rope safety and skills.
I'd highly recommend nomads adventure group. Their own enjoyment and passion for the sport, along with their knowledge and expertise really shines through and provides a motivation to develop my own abilities and life skills. I'm thankful for my year of sessions with boys; having granted me my wish to develop skills, and turns out love, for climbing.
Jack W, Alpine Adventure
Locryn planned and executed the best week of activities for a newbie mountaineer in the French alps, progressively bringing in skills I’d need for the main goal of the trip…to summit a mountain.
I was safely guided through an amazing via ferrata with an alpine extension, learning more about abseiling along the way. Also, Locryn taught me how to ice climb, making me feel safe the whole time, despite the severe incline and super solid ice.
Our summit of Petite forche though, was the highlight of the trip. We listened to the guides, tracking news and weather with Locryn adjusting plans accordingly. He safely navigated us around/across crevasses in pitch black darkness and led us to the top of the mountain and safely back down. We literally blazed a trail for the other mountaineers to follow that day, and it was truly the best experience.
To add onto such an extensive list of activities, we also did some sport climbing, with Locryn once again demonstrating his skills as a teacher, allow me to challenge myself while also keeping safe.
If you want to challenge yourself and go on the ultimate adventure, you’ll be in extremely safe hands with Nomad.

For a memorable adventure we would wholeheartedly recommend Locryn Williams. We joined him in Argentière, in the French Alps, for a meticulously planned four day adventure which included hiking in the Reserve Naturelle des Aiguilles Rouge, incorporating the magical Lac Blanc; white water rafting in Chamonix; a hike from Vallorcine to Tête de Balme and the Mer de Glace.
Attention to detail was a key factor throughout the trip, as Locryn took account of the group’s ages, fitness levels and experience; all aspects of safety were covered including, communications, kit, food and hydration. The hiking days even included well timed meals breaks in some of the most scenic locations you could imagine.
Locryn was the most professional guide, setting a comfortable pace, sharing an abundance of knowledge, anecdotes, songs and information about the natural environment in a most engaging manner, which provided added value to our adventure. In addition, Locryn provided plenty of challenges along the way, using expert coaching techniques to help individuals overcome their limitations, such as climbing down vertical alpine ladders and foot placement for steep downhill sections of the route.
We thoroughly enjoyed our alpine and we can’t wait until the next one!!
